Dinobots

In their first appearance in the Generation One series, the Dinobots were dispatched to Earth to discover what had happened to the missing Ark . They encountered the Decepticons, who would become the Insecticons , and both sides blasted each other into stasis lock. The Dinobots killed Octane and stole his ship, but they ran into trouble when the local Autobot forces believed them to be traitors and fired on them. Repaired by the Autobots, who were by now convinced of their intentions, they participated in the final assault on Shockwave, where Grimlock rescued Magnus and Optimus Prime.

The eventual fate of the Dynobots would be revealed in The Transformers: Escalation where it was shown that the bodies of the Dynobots and Shockwave were being dug up by the mysterious defense organization called Skywatch. After the events of The Transformers: Devastation , Skywatch dug up Grimlock as a defense measure, but his reawakening was sabotaged by the Machination. After a battle with Scorponok , the other Dynobots were reactivated by Skywatch—manipulated by the Machination, who wanted them to kill Grimlock. [4] [7]

But the vast chorus of “I knew it”s was finally launched by a confirmation this week, first in the form of Marc Wahlberg’s titillating dissembling, followed by the real deal, from a Beijing News (via Empire ) interview with ‘Age’s producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura. Like this: “I can not disclose the specifics, but you can be sure that the arrival of the Dinobots will give the audience a lot to be excited about.” If you can trust the translation and source (Beijing?), and blissfully ignore the lack of specifics, then what we have right there folks is an incontrovertible confirmation. Dinobots will be making an appearance in Transformers: Age of Extinction, scheduled to release June 27, 2014.

As for the Dinobots (both the baby and regular sized ones), they have not been focused quite as prominently as they were in the marketing for  Transformers: Age of Extinction . One of the biggest complaints coming out of the fourth film was how little the dinosaurs were actually featured in the movie after dominating the trailers, so their lack of prominence in this trailer could indicate that they will have a similar sized role in part five and Paramount is trying their best not to overhype their presence. There are surely many who hope that is not the case and the Dinobots will have a large role, thinking that the studio is simply holding back the best footage.
